A Low Cost acquisiton platform that can accomodate different acquisition Hardware.


The Product

SK-AVaM is a low cost solution for data acquisition, analysis and manipulation.
It is built on a general framework (called "Signal-Kernel") for data acquisition, manipulation and visualisation, that was developed by STS. This framework provide a wide range of advanced capabilities that can be easily assembled together. This approach enable us to develop in a short time and at low cost specific application that closely fit user needs. Real time graphics (FFT, Time Histories, Cross Spectra ...) can be visualised during acquisition, and the acquired data can be saved in different formats.

Signal-Kernel can support multiple acquisition devices, and actually is completely independent on the specific acquisition devices. At the moment the following are implemented:

  • B&K Pulse
  • OROS
  • National Instruments

other devices can be added on request.

Main Characteristics

  • Independence from acquisition devices. Different hardware can be used through the same user interface, and support to new hardware can be added with no changes to the common interface.
  • Easy control on all the acquisition parameters
  • Possibility to save and restore previously used set-up.
  • Real time disk Throughput of acquired data.
  • Order tracking. It can be realised via hardware (if supported by the acquisition device) or software.
  • Data export in several formats (Other formats can be easily added on request).
  • Real time graphics permits to monitor the signals as soon as they are acquired.
  • Different kind of 2D Real time representations (FFT, Time Histories, Cross Spectra etc ).
  • The stored data can be visualised in various graphical windows including waterfall, FFT, Time Histories, Cross Spectra etc.
  • Database control. The data acquired can be directly stored in databases (Access, SQL server ...).
  • Post-Processing of Acquired Data, with different available methods.

    User Customisation

    SK-AVaM has been designed in order to be fully customisable on user needs. Typical customisations can include:

    • Introduction of specific acquisition device.
    • Interface with specific data format.
    • Development of specific post-processing routines.
